When it comes to college football, there are few who deserve the “expert” tag quite like Barrett Sallee. The CBS Sports writer and analyst hosts shows on SiriusXM College, writes for CBSSports.com and appears regularly on CBS Sports HQ as well as countless radio shows across the nation as a guest.

Sallee debuted with SportsLine in 2017 and has delivered in a BIG way, posting a winning record in his weekly best bets column since that point. He went 59-35-2 (63 percent, plus $2,037) on all his college football picks for SportsLine in 2019, and he also enters Week 9 of the 2020 college football season on a 55-31 streak on his best bets since the start of last year. Anybody who has been following him is WAY UP.

Now, he’s turned his attention to the Week 9 college football schedule and is revealing his three top plays. A parlay on these three picks would return 6-1. We can tell you Sallee is backing UCF (-2.5 at William Hill) to cover against Houston.

“The Cougars got lit up like a Christmas tree two games ago when they faced BYU,” Sallee said. “I guarantee you that Knights coach Josh Heupel has examined that in great detail. Why? Because his quarterback, Dillon Gabriel, is one of the most dynamic players in the country. Houston won’t be able to keep pace in what will be a track meet — AAC style.”

Sallee has also found two other college football picks he loves, including a play against a Top 25 team that “lacks a true identity.” You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in any college football picks.

Here are Barrett Sallee’s picks and write-ups for Week 9 (posted on Oct. 28):

OHIO ST. -12
OHIO ST. @ PENN ST. | 10/31 | 7:30 PM EDT

Penn State lost leading rusher Journey Brown last week and his successor Noah Cain this week. The Nittany Lions are going to have to rely heavily on quarterback Sean Clifford through the air and on the ground. That isn’t going to work against Justin Fields and the dynamic Ohio State offense. This might be a shootout, because Ohio State’s linebackers didn’t look great last week vs. Nebraska, but that’ll change this week against a Penn State team that lacks a true identity.

UNDER 64.5
LSU @ AUBURN | 10/31 | 3:30 PM EDT

The last thing that Auburn needs is for LSU and its explosive offense to have a ton of possessions. Running back Tank Bigsby is a great way to ensure that doesn’t happen. LSU will start Myles Brennan coming off of injury or freshman T.J. Finley at quarterback. Either way, coach Ed Orgeron will want to take away some pressure on the road and will rely on his running game. This won’t be the shootout that some are expecting.

UCF -2.5
UCF @ HOUSTON | 10/31 | 2:00 PM EDT

The Cougars got lit up like a Christmas tree two games ago when they faced BYU, and I guarantee you that Knights coach Josh Heupel has examined that in great detail. Why?
